Restaurants, Pubs + Bars

SPACE + THYME is proud to operate and manage the kitchens in well-known and much-loved pubs and bars in central Brighton as well as the Brighton Marina Yacht Club.

Our experience and expertise extends to the successful running of these popular establishments, and the team of resident chefs create menus that reflect the personality of these venues, updating them seasonally to ensure the very best quality ingredients are used.

The Black Lion
Slap-bang in the middle of the Lanes, The Black Lion, with a history dating back more than 500 years, transforms daily from bustling foodie pub to one of Brighton’s busiest late-night venues featuring live bands, DJs and an extensive cocktail list.

The menu at The Black Lion is updated seasonally and features pub classics (fish & chips, bangers & mash and burgers) as well as tasty salads and mains.  The Black Lion also serves epic Sunday roasts and was voted 13th overall for Best Sunday Roast in the 2020 Brighton Restaurant Awards (BRAVOs).

Post House Cafe
Post House Cafe is one of the newest additions to the Brighton food and drink scene, located in the bustling Lanes district in the original Post Master's cottage dating back to 1870.

Post House Cafe transforms from brilliant brunch spot in the morning to cool bar and restaurant in the evening serving incredible tapas and small plates.

On Sundays the tradition of roasting is observed and kept sacred by serving one of the best roasts in Brighton! There's even a Bloody Mary station so you can customise yours just the way you like it!

The Watershed
Enjoy waterfront drinks and dining at The Watershed - the newly refurbished bar and restaurant at Brighton Marina Yacht Club.

This floating venue in the heart of the marina is nestled among the yachts and sailboats moored at the marina, rising and falling with the tides creating a relaxing place to eat, drink and socialise.

The menu uses fresh local ingredients and seafood, served as small plates, classic dishes like fish & chips and burgers and larger sharing platters as well as one of Brighton's finest roasts every Sunday.

The Mesmerist
We have franchised the kitchen The Mesmerist to local specialists in Caribbean cuisine, The Vital Ingredient - a family-run business with Cinzia Vitale at the healm serving up delicious and authentic Caribbean dishes.

As well as all your favourites like aki & saltfish, jerk chicken and mutton curry, the menu also also offers mouthwatering Caribbean burgers, super tasty wraps and salads with a sweet and tangy mango dressing.

And on Sundays, you can experience a Caribbean infused Sunday Roast where traditional Yorkshire puddings are replaced with fried dumplings, and your sides come in the form of Caribbean greens, rice & peas and fried plantain!
