Our venue's summer menus are out!
SPACE + THYME are proud to manage three of the most well known and loved pubs and bars in central Brighton. Our experience and expertise at managing events extends to the successful running of these popular establishments, which differ in size and style, that remain firm favourites among the Brighton set.
As we welcome the glorious summer sunshine to the south coast, the team of resident chefs in these venues have given a seasonal update to the menus to ensure the very best quality ingredients are used, while still reflecting the personality and unique character of the venues.
The Black Lion - 14 Black Lion Street, BN1 1ND
This pub with a history dating back almost 500 years and just a block from the beach, serves up pub classics, salads and burgers that offer excellent choice and value for money. But the real stars of the show are the sharing boards ideal for two or more people that serve up Deep South-style flavours (think sticky chicken wings, pulled pork and smoky ribs… make sure you have plenty of napkins to hand!); a Seafood Platter brimming with ‘fruit de mer’ served in a variety of ways including deep-fried and as a pate; a rainbow-coloured vegetarian feast served with fresh breads and dipping sauces and everyone’s favourite… crispy Nachos piled high and loaded with all the usual toppings.
The Western - 11 Cranbourne Street, BN1 2RD
The Western’s menu has an abundance of smaller plates and pub bites to choose from that are ideal for sharing and feature flavours that range from hot and spicy, cheesy or smoky to sweet and minty. The selection of mains also offer a wide variety of flavours and colours with the stand-out dishes on the menu being the garlic chicken kiev, the lemon and thyme marinated panzanella salad and the smoked salmon and caper salad with pickled cucumber. The chefs are also currently working on a brunch menu that will be launching soon and will be a great reason to get together with your friends and family for some top quality grub!
The Mesmerist -
1-3 Prince Albert Street, BN1 1HE
The Mes (as it is affectionately known to locals and those in the know) is a great place to meet friends and family for some brilliantly creative cocktails with ingredients including salted caramel, chilli and popcorn. Its menu featuring small plates and buns bursting with brilliant combinations of ingredients from Jamaica to the Mediterannean will be sure to satisfy the fiercest hunger cravings, but for a truly mighty plate of food, head to The Mes on a Sunday for their spectacular roasts where you can choose from beef, lamb, pork and chicken. And we have the vegetarians covered here too with a choice of mushroom and goats cheese wellington or miso, butternut squash and hazelnut loaf.
